Day1: Transfer to twin lakes
Located between Musanze district and Ugandan border at the base of the Mount Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo, it’s believed that the twin lakes were formed after volcanic glaciers from the erupted volcanoes blocked river Nyabarongo that was flowing towards the northern part of the Rwanda. The twin lakes Burera and Ruhondo were named so because they are situated in the same areas and their physical connection and share a combined surface area of 2800 hectares of land. Famed for its fresh air, gorgeous mountain views, and perfect weather, the lakes offer tourists a beautiful view of landscape, wetland habitat, and water birds, Virunga volcanoes, culture visits.
After an early breakfast, you will drive to in Musanze 7am to Burera and Ruhondo Lakes to enjoy a fantastic nature walk around the lakes, bird watching, fishing and later a beautiful sundowner cruise while enjoying the outstanding view of the volcanoes with cold drinks and snacks. Day2: Gorilla trekking ( Lifetime experience )
Volcanoes National Park protects the steep slopes of the magnificent virunga mountain range – home of the rare mountain gorilla – and the rich mosaic of montane ecosystems, which embrace evergreen and bamboo forest, open grassland, swamp and heath. An exhilarating trek through the cultivated foothills of the Virunga’s offers stirring views in all directions. Then, abruptly, the trail enters the national park, immersing trekkers in the mysterious intimacy of the rainforest, alive with the calls of colorful birds and chattering of the rare golden monkeys, and littered with fresh spoor of the mountains’ elusive populations of buffalo and elephant.
Early morning at 6 am, our driver will pick you up for a lifetime experience, head to the park headquarter for the briefing and as well as separation into the groups basing on which gorilla group you are to be tracking. Accompanied by a highly trained guide and the national park rangers, you will set off for your thrill experience of the Gorillas in the Mist. Once reached the family, you are allowed to spend strictly one hour with these amazing creatures.

Lake Kivu is Rwanda’s largest and Africa’s sixth largest lake. Extremely good-looking inland water body, it is enclosed by steep, green terraced hills along eastern Rwanda. Lake Kivu stands at a height of 1, 460 meters (4,790 ft) above sea level, 89 km in length and 48 km wide, covering a surface of 2700 km2. After breakfast, relax at the hotel and later go for kayaking. Travel peacefully along the spectacular coast of one of Africa’s Rift Valley’s Great Lakes Using modern and very stable sea kayaks and experience the tranquility of the clear water as well as the interesting sights. After lunch relax a on the shore of the lake and later drive back to Kigali.
